Alhamdulillah, September came to a close yesterday, which means we now have the winners of the Domechy Monthly Challenge September 2026, the four most active members of the month, and the featured project documentation for September.

Before I share how the winner was chosen, I would like to go through the challenge format again to avoid any suspicion or dispute.

The Challenge Format Has Changed With Every Edition

The Domechy Monthly Challenge is only three months old. It started in July, followed by a second edition in August and the latest edition in September, which ended yesterday. After each edition, I took several factors into account so that the next one could be improved.

July: The Winner Was Decided by the Highest Vote Count

In July, the winner was decided by the highest number of votes. I did not set any voting conditions because it was the first edition, so I wanted to keep the voting process as simple as possible.

August: Stricter Voting Rules

In August, I started adding conditions to the voting process to prevent unfair votes. After experimenting with several methods, we reached a process that ensures only owners of valid email addresses can vote, and when something looks questionable, the voter is asked to create a Domechy account before voting.

However, we received feedback from participants that deciding the winner by votes alone made them uncomfortable, because it allowed participants who are well known on social media, in other words influencers, to win more easily than other participants.

September: Votes Pick the Finalists, Judges Pick the Winner

For September, Domechy changed the rules so that public voting only decides the top five finalists, and the winner is then chosen by judges from among those five.

The judges for September came from the Bambu Lab HQ team itself, not from any local party in Malaysia. Because of this, I can say that the judges made their decision based on the entries alone, and not on the status of the participants or whether they are well known.

Bambu Lab Judges Picked RE:JAR as the Winner

The Bambu Lab judges picked RE:JAR (Upcycled Wireless Charging Lamp) by Isyraq, better known by his signature name Inhaf, as the winner of the September challenge, and he takes home the main prize, a Bambu Lab R1. Here is the judges’ comment on the project:

“Wonderful idea, and really use 3D print to give a new life into a discarded can; Combining innovation, aesthetics, and functionality.”

In short, the judges chose RE:JAR for its idea of using 3D printing to give a discarded glass jar a new life, for combining innovation, aesthetics and function in one project, and for the good presentation of the project in its video and message. Although there were more complex entries, the biggest factor that set this project apart is that 3D printing is the main element of the project rather than just an add-on. In terms of creativity, original idea and impact, RE:JAR met all of these criteria.

Apart from the quality of the project itself, the judges also praised the quality of the video, although it was not a main factor in choosing the winner.

Second and Third Place

The two projects in second and third place in the judges’ selection are:

  • Second place, Seeba-Robot Pengiring: “Leveraging trends in the era of embodied AI, their project empowered university innovations and assisted in the successful realization of technological achievements.”
  • Third place, TAP – Tak Ingat No Parent? Tap Je: “Although the design is not overly complex, it effectively addresses a real-world social pain point through 3D printing, offering significant practical value.”

3D Printing Needs to Be the Main Element of the Project

For the other projects, the Bambu Lab judges praised the work the participants had done. However, those projects were not placed in the top three because 3D printing appeared to play only a minimal supporting role in them rather than being the main element of the project.

Thank You to All Participants

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in the Domechy Monthly Challenge. I hope everyone enjoyed it, and to those who have not won yet, please do not give up. I will keep running challenges like this with attractive prizes in the future, so that more participants get the chance to win.

To Isyraq, congratulations on winning two monthly challenges in a row. We at Domechy appreciate his willingness to always liven up community activities on Domechy.

Three Changes for the Next Challenge

I would also like to announce a few changes to the format of the next challenge. As usual, I have taken into account everything learned from the previous editions to improve the next one.

1. Renamed to the Domechy Creator Challenge, With a Two-Month Duration

Starting in October, the Domechy Monthly Challenge will be renamed the Domechy Creator Challenge, and each challenge will run for two months instead of one. A one-month window turned out to be too short for participants to finish their projects, so many people who were interested could not submit an entry in time. Since each challenge now runs for two months, it no longer makes sense to call it a “monthly” challenge.

2. Themes With a More Consistent Scale

The theme for September was arguably too open, so the scale of the entries varied widely from one participant to another. A small-scale project such as a lamp and a complex project such as an advanced robot system should be competing in different categories. For the next challenges, I will choose themes that keep the scale of the entries more consistent.

3. Two Winner Categories

The next challenge will have two winner categories. The first is the main winner, decided by the judges based on the project that is most interesting and best meets their criteria. The second is the most popular project, which will receive a side prize based on the engagement of its video shared on social media.

Suggestions From the Community Are Welcome

That is my report on the Domechy Monthly Challenge September 2026. For the next challenge, I would really welcome any suggestions from the community, whether on challenge themes, scoring methods, or anything else that could improve activities on Domechy. Thank you.

Saya faham persepsi tu akan timbul. Tapi kita kena faham,
      1. Komuniti kita belum cukup besar. Kalau saya larang pemenang untuk sertai cabaran bulan seterusnya, maka kurang satu penyertaan yang bakal memeriahkan cabaran ni. Sedangkan kita perlukan penyertaan sebanyak mungkin.
      2. Kalau saya benarkan pemenang lalu sertai cabaran, tapi saya halang dia daripada dipilih pemenang meskipun dia layak, bukankah itu tak adil bagi dia yang turut sama berusaha mcm peserta lain?

Saya tahu keputusan ni tak semua orang suka.

Siapa tak nak menang kan!~ InsyaAllah jom cuba lagi! meriahkan inovasi tempatan.
