Beyond the Print
For this month's challenge, we want to see how creatively you can combine 3D-printed parts with other materials to make something of your own.
The winner will be the first Bambu Lab R1 owner in Malaysia.
Project requirements
Accepted project criteria
Create any product by combining 3D printed parts with at least one other supporting element. The type of product is entirely up to your creativity.
3D printing is a core element
The project should not work as intended if the printed part is removed.
Use at least one other element
It can be a material, hardware component, mechanism or an existing object.
That element must have a purpose
It should add a function, solve a problem or be necessary to complete the idea.
Examples
Simple or complex — you decide
3D-printed key organiser + leather
A printed key organiser with a leather section added to improve the finish and appearance.
3D-printed robot + electronics
A printed robot body combined with motors, sensors or other electronic components.
3D-printed lamp + wood
A printed lamp housing combined with a wooden base and an off-the-shelf light source.
3D-printed holder + existing product
A custom printed holder or adapter made to fit and improve an item you already use.
Anything from a simple idea to a complex project is welcome. How far you take it is up to you.

Finish the project
Make sure the 3D-printed part and the additional element are both visible in the finished project.
Prepare a photo and video
Use one clear main photo and a short public video from TikTok, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube. A slideshow is accepted and you do not need to show your face.
Submit by 24 September
Complete the entry form and the short Bambu Lab questionnaire before the submission deadline.
Winner selection
How the winner will be chosen
Public voting determines the five finalists. The final winner is then chosen by a judge.
Voting closes on 29 September
All valid votes received before the closing time will be counted.
Top 5 become finalists
The five entries with the highest number of valid votes will move to the final judging stage.
The judge selects the winner
The final decision will be based on creativity and how well the project relates to the Beyond the Print theme.
