RONA KACA is a sustainable lamp shade that upcycles waste coloured glass panels into a functional and decorative lighting element, giving discarded glass a new purpose while reducing material waste. The coloured glass act as the primary material, chosen for its recyclability, durability, creates dynamic ambient lighting and contributes to the lamp’s distinctive visual identity.
The design addresses a common issue in conventional decorative lighting, where fixed structures are difficult to repair and often discarded when damaged or outdated. In response, Rona kaca introduces a modular system that allows individual components to be easily replaced, extending the product’s lifespan and reducing material waste.
A key feature of the design is its rotatable glass panels, supported by a gear based mechanism that enables users to adjust light composition and visual appearance. This interactive element not only enhances user experience and design value but also allows for customization based on personal preference and interior context.
